Command & Control (C&C) server
Command & Control (C&C) server
A Command & Control (C&C) server is a server used to communicate with malware installed on a computer or a network. The C&C server can be used to send commands to the malware, run the malware, and collect data from the affected computer or network. C&C servers are often used by cybercriminals to take control of a large number of infected computers, known as a botnet. Botnets are often used to attack websites or send spam emails. To protect against C&C servers, it is important to take good security measures, such as using anti-virus software and refusing to click on suspicious links or download files from unknown sources.
